Director of Music and the Arts

Doylestown Presbyterian Church is seeking a Director of Music and the Arts to lead their music program; a vital part of the church’s ministry and outreach in the community.   Responsibilities include the leadership and oversight of 4 vocal and 3 handbell choirs, as well as the church orchestra.   A Bachelor’s Music degree with vocal emphasis is required. Master’s degree or commensurate experience is preferred.  This is a full time position and the salary is dependent on degree and experience.   Desired skills include:

  • envisioning, designing and implementing a comprehensive music ministry;
  • excellence in communication, leadership, organization, administration, and collaboration;
  • extensive knowledge of church music repertoire and Reformed worship;
  • accomplishment in choral conducting and instruction in vocal technique;
  • ability to build upon the existing music program through continued development and expansion.

Mission and Community Outreach Coordinator

Doylestown Presbyterian Church is seeking a part-time (30 hours per week) Mission and Community Outreach Coordinator to provide organization and leadership for mission efforts, connecting our church both locally and globally by mobilizing the entire congregation to carry out our church’s vision to be a growing community of Christ’s disciples engaged in worship, service and care.  Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with area faith communities and greater Doylestown & Philadelphia agencies on specific projects and outreach efforts.
  • Serve as staff resource on Mission Committee and Peace & Justice Committee.
  • Organize work teams for mission service opportunities.
  • Research regional, national and international mission opportunities for congregants of all ages.
  • Communicate and publicize servant opportunities and news to wider congregation
  • Identify grant proposal opportunities, research available grants, write and submit proposals.
  • Develop documentation of process, resources and contacts which allow the mission programs to continue after the term of the position expires.
  • Recommend and Implement educational programs regarding mission and community outreach for every age group in consultation with all education committees.
  • Plan, develop and teach programs that will energize and inspire participation in mission.
